Discover Your
Freediving
Archetype
Know your body, train precisely, and reach your next breath-hold milestone with confidence.
After working with and studying hundreds of freedivers, we began to notice something fascinating.
Divers don’t just struggle randomly.
Certain physiological and psychological patterns show up again and again.
The same training habits.
The same strengths.
The same plateaus.
Even the same emotional reactions to training and performance.
And over time, these patterns became clear enough that we started grouping divers into what we call Freedive Fitness Archetypes.
Take out Freedive Fitness Assessment to discover your Archetype, and what it reveals about your diving, today!
Our Freedive Fitness Assessment — the first of its kind in freediving — uses three targeted, sports-science-based in-water tests to reveal exactly how your body performs under a breath-hold. The result is a clear, personalised breakdown of the type of diver you are, your strengths and limitations, and the specific training that will unlock your next level of performance.
The assessment will reveal your Apnea Engine Archetype and, as a bonus, provide insight into your CO2 Sensitivity and Endurance Profile.

Your archetype reflects how your body, mind, and nervous system handle the demands of sustained diving. We call it your apnea engine — because it’s how your internal systems “run” underwater. Understanding your archetype is a real game-changer for performance.
CO2 sensitivity tells us whether your body is reacting normally, overreacting, or underreacting to CO2, potentially triggering your nervous system and an unnecessary fight-or-flight response, thereby limiting your diving potential. It provides guidance on the optimal training intensity to safely and effectively build your CO₂ tolerance.
Endurance ability tells us how well you can handle volume and whether your maximum is being held back or fully supported by general fitness and muscular endurance. This reveals the most effective training strategies to help you gain more metres with less effort.

Which Freediving Archetype Are You? — Pusher, Spiker, Cruiser, Crasher?
Each archetype has its own relationship with stress, discomfort, recovery, CO₂ tolerance, nervous system regulation, and performance pressure.
And most importantly — each archetype requires a slightly different training approach to progress safely and consistently.
Discover yours today, and reach your next level with confidence.

The Pusher
Always fighting and suffering to make gains? You might be a Pusher.

The Spiker
Sudden jump in intensity from easy to extreme? You might be a Spiker.

The Crasher
Effortless in training, but hitting a sudden wall when it counts? You might be a Crasher.

The Burner
.....
Two divers can follow the exact same training and get completely different results. Why? Because freediving performance isn’t just about effort — it’s about how your body responds to breath-holding and which systems need the most development. With the right insignt you can remove training barriers and achieve greater results...
O₂ Limits & Hypoxia – Finally understand why your breath-hold ends too soon and how to safely push further.
CO₂ & Lactic Acid – Reduce discomfort, delay fatigue, and train smarter, not harder.
Stamina & Endurance – Target the exact systems that keep you going longer, without wasted effort.
Mental Blocks & Control – Gain insight into your urge-to-breathe response and master focus under pressure.
Training Plateaus – Break through personal bests with drills, distances, and intensities that actually work.
What's Inlcuded:
We'll assess your performance and take a deep dive into your results
Starting with a diver questionnaire, we will gather personal information about your current freediving performance and then provide you with a personalised assessment, including three in-water pool tests to assess your diving efficiency and effectiveness.

Don't believe us, believe them

In freediving, it’s often difficult to find clear answers, so I was very satisfied with how this assessment provided them.

It helped me pinpoint why certain dives feel the way they do. One of my key issues is consistency- sometimes I feel great and other times the same dive is a real struggle. Noting that I am missing out on the yellow zone training- I think this will be important for improvement and consistency moving forward.

Evertthing is well explained and backed by concepts and with that base the preparation for getting better results is clear

Helped me cement that there needed to be change in my training strategy, something I already knew deep down, but didn't have the guidance around to help point in the right direction.

I really enjoyed receiving the report and being able to implement the exercises, and that I wasn't flooded with loads of different things to do. Just 3 exercises, clear targets, ready to slot into my training plan. It's worked a treat. The result? No contractions until 100m turn, surfaced at 155 super fresh, filled with confidence that I have more meters in me.

Very precise descriptions of urge to breath levels, and the actual exercises. Often these things are kept a bit vague, but this was really cool to see. I'm also happy to have some input on how to train DYNB.
