1-Day Course
Advance your freediving knowledge and skills further by becoming a certified freediver. With a focus on safe practices, diving efficiency and enjoyment, you’ll learn proper propulsion (buoyancy), entry, movement, and turn techniques. You'll be encouraged to achieve a 50m underwater swim and a 2-minute breath-hold, along with completing a diver rescue.
2-Day Course - Coming Soon!
Refine your style and skills while developing a deeper understanding of freediver physiology, breathing, and recovery techniques. You will develop a greater awareness of your strengths and weaknesses as a diver and be shown methods to enhance your freediving capacity to achieve a 3.00 breath-hold and 75m Dynamic. You will receive basic CPR and first aid training to improve your safety skills and demonstrate your ability to rescue a diver from a blackout (BO). Upon completion, you will be regarded as a Lead Freediver, capable of supervising training sessions and assisting instructors and coaches.

Embark on a rewarding journey to become a skilled, experienced, and responsible freediver! You’ll have the exciting opportunity to coach others and guide CMAS pool freediving courses. Along the way, you’ll master advanced breath-holding techniques and pool freediving skills while learning how to organise and teach a course to enthusiastic students. This journey will help you grasp essential teaching principles and enhance your skills in evaluating and supporting divers, enabling them to reach their full potential. Plus, you’ll receive advanced CPR and first aid training, allowing you to practice safely and teach with confidence. You can also explore how to excel as a competitive diver, perfecting your training techniques for yourself and others!
What's Inlcuded:
Learn the physiology of freediving
Two classroom sessions, one in the morning, and one in the afternoon, followed by an in-water session, will teach you ways to master the physiological reactions triggered by breath-hold diving.
Learn how to develop your breath-holding efficiency to increase underwater time, metres, and enjoyment.
Deepen your knowledge of proper breathing techniques and effective recovery breathing.
Instructor-led examination
Pool practice and skills development
Guided by coach Nathan, you'll advance your freediving knowledge and skills, helping you become a safe, responsible, certified freediver.
Practice safe buddy methods and complete a rescue.
Learn how to maintain a streamlined position and techniques for turning.
Achieve a 50m underwater swim and 2-minute breath-hold.
Get up to 3 months to complete any course requirements you can't on the day.
We'll take care of the extras
To freedive in the pool, you only need a swimsuit, goggles, learner fins and weights. We'll lend you fins and weights, you bring the rest. If you have a wetsuit, bonus – bring that too!

Nathan Vinski is a world-renowned freediving coach and competitive freediver, featured in Netflix's “The Deepest Breath”. The brains behind Train Freediving books, courses, and the Apnea Fitness training programmes. He's been a leading voice in freedive education for almost ten years.
Having trained a global squad of competitive freediving athletes to professional success and taught freediving courses worldwide, his mantra is “train smarter, not harder”, and the results speak for themselves.

Our CMAS 1* Pool Diver Course happens monthly on Sundays from 8.30 to 3.30 pm. Get in touch to find out available dates.
The great thing about freediving is that barely any equipment is needed! As you progress, you will have a kit wish list, but fancy fins and masks aren't essential at the beginning. All you will need for this course is a swimsuit and goggles, and we'll take care of the rest. If you have a wetsuit, bonus – bring that too.
Yes, as long as you meet the course requirements, which includes performing a 2-minute breath-hold, 50m dive, confidently completing a rescue, and passing the short instructor-led exam, you'll receive a certification subject to an additional charge of £20.
We understand that things come up. If you can't make your chosen date after booking, you'll be offered an alternative date within three months of your original booking or a refund. Unless otherwise agreed by the team, you will receive a full refund for up to four weeks' notice, a 50% refund for up to two weeks' notice, and 25% for anything less than that.
